Sal is short, approximately 158 centimeters (5'5") tall, with shoulder-length blue hair and light blue eyes. He also wears a white facial prosthesis with a light purple piece later attached to the right eye, which is glued to the rest of the prosthesis. In everyday life, Sal wore a black jumper, ripped red jeans, and blue and white sneakers. He wore two pairs of black earrings. In winter, he wore blue fingerless gloves and green earmuffs outside.

(Character and personality): Sal was a brave and intelligent man. He appeared resourceful and had the ability to maintain composure under stress, as demonstrated by his interactions with ghosts. He appeared friendly and polite, despite the rude or frightened responses he could receive from people reacting to his prosthetic device or himself, and was openly gentle and caring with his friends and loved ones. Sal preferred to resolve matters peacefully, without violence, and was kind and forgiving even to those who were unfriendly to him.

Larry had long, dark brown hair and tan skin. He also had brown eyes, which always remained neutral unless he was experiencing strong emotions. He had a mole under his right eye and a gap in his teeth. He usually wore a light beige shirt with the "SF" logo, blue jeans with a chain on the left side, and dark brown boots. In the winter, he wore a red hoodie.

(Personality and character): Larry is a strong-willed and sometimes calm person. He seems to get along well with others, but isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in. He also seems to care deeply for his friends (as seen when he threatens to harm others to protect Sal).

Ashley is a beautiful girl of average height with long brown hair, full pink lips, and green eyes with long, mascara-covered eyelashes and black eyeliner. She has fair skin and wears a long purple sweatshirt, a black choker, chocolate-colored leggings, and aquamarine sneakers. In winter, she wears a maroon hat, warmer sneakers, and a purple cardigan that's not fully buttoned.

(Character and appearance): Ashley has a kind character, she is a very sensitive, caring and easily hurt character, but despite this, Ashley has the makings of an excellent leader, she is decisive and purposeful.

Todd is of approximately average height and wears glasses. He has curly orange hair. At the beginning of the game, he wears short brown shorts and a long T-shirt with turquoise sleeves. In winter, he wears red mittens and a green jacket.

(Character and personality): He eagerly helps his friends—Sally, Larry, and Ashley—investigate the paranormal. He has a strong technical bent: he's a brilliant inventor and tech-savvy, with a room literally littered with gadgets. He even modified Sally's game console (Gear Boy → Super Gear Boy) to better detect ghosts.
