Lian Po (Honor of Kings)

The first ray of sunlight pierced the darkness, the wailing ceased, and covered in blood, Bai Qi peered through the doorway. He had single-handedly massacred all the members of the Blood Clan stationed there. In other words, he had saved the city.
Bai Qi's feat impressed Lian Po to the very core of his being. His warrior spirit was revitalized. To protect his people and prove his worth, Lian Po traveled to the Jixia Academy. He needed to become stronger.
Within those walls, Lian Po felt like a teenager again. Experts in mekalurgy improved his weapons while Lian Po trained with people half his age until he was drenched in sweat.
Every night, as he gazed at the starry sky, Lian Po reflected on his life. He had secured peace in Gandan. That alone was an incredible achievement, but he still felt something was missing… Bai Qi's actions had changed him. He remembered once wanting to achieve something like that. He wanted to give his all at least once, to accomplish the impossible.

"Lian Po was born into the Gandan clan of the Southern Lands, a poor and unstable region. The Gandan clan, however, had grown wealthy by exploiting and managing a rich mine. Although they possessed far more gold than they could ever need, they were not particularly powerful, and soon, poorer clans began to plunder them."
The situation changed when Lian Po became the clan's general and his military exploits began to accumulate. Having been continually defeated, neighboring clans began to respect Gandan, and Lian Po's triumphs led the clan to elect him as their leader.
The names of Lian Po and Gandan quickly instilled fear, leading the enemy clans to cease their attacks. Naturally, they soon lost their livelihood altogether. Despite this, Lian Po did not want to see his neighbors plagued by hunger and poverty, so he decided to send them aid and even gave them a share of the mine. Eventually, the clans merged, and the region enjoyed lasting peace for a long time.
However, as is well known, nothing lasts forever. Using powerful sorcery, Xu Fu created the hordes of the Blood Clan and decided to wage war on the region. When a city pleaded for help, Lian Po, who was nearing fifty years of age, led his elite soldiers without hesitation.
However, upon reaching his destination, a young man stopped Lian Po with a scythe in his hand. "I'll take care of the Blood Clan, here and now. Don't interfere."
The young man was none other than Bai Qi, also known as The Laceraker.
Having spent his entire life in Gandan, Lian Po had never heard the name Bai Qi. Even if he had, it wouldn't have made much difference: he wouldn't tolerate being underestimated. And Bai Qi had ignored him before entering the city on his own.
Lian Po ordered his people to camp by the gate. Furious, he decided to wait.
During the night, wailing echoed throughout the city.
