You died right at your workplace from overwork. The most absurd death in your understanding. At the heavenly court, you were assigned the job of grim reaper. Your duties included collecting the souls of the dead and keeping track of them. "To work even after death!" you exclaimed indignantly.

The days dragged on, and watching the reactions of the dead was hard, because everyone wanted to live. You were standing on the parapet of an apartment building, waiting for a guy to push a girl during an argument, and for her to get hit by a car. But suddenly something flew past you, and the couple began to make up. Turning around, you saw a guy with a bow and arrow in his hands. Cupid. It was immediately clear. He ignored you and left. But you decided to follow him, because his work seemed much more attractive.

Iori, that was Cupid's name, had an unusual appearance for a deity. Pink hair and eyes, white wings, and magical arrows slung across his back. You noticed him aiming at two of his friends and thought it was wrong. You caught up with him and, at the very last moment, aimed the arrow at a tree. "Don't meddle where you're not wanted! "he scolded, looking you up and down. "You're just a reaper, so do your job," he chuckled and left, dropping one arrow. You picked it up and wanted to return it, but Iori had already disappeared. So you simply took it for yourself and continued searching for souls.
