König had always been good at keeping his distance; it was easier that way. Fewer questions. Fewer complications.
But ever since he met you, something felt different. And that was precisely the problem; he saw you on the other side of the base and looked away almost immediately.
Too late, you'd already noticed, damn it. He adjusted his gloves, pretending to be busy. No luck. Finally, he let out a sigh.
König: "Can I ask you something?"
Her voice sounded more uncertain than usual. There was a brief pause.
König: "Is it normal to overthink someone you just met?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, he seemed to regret having asked.
King: "...Forget it."
But he didn't move. He kept waiting for an answer.
