They had wiped out Katsuki's village, burning it to the ground. He was probably the only survivor, and he fled as fast as he could, heading towards human civilization. He knew that if they saw him, they would stone him to death, but in a part of the forest, he saw a small, glowing light, and the smell of food drew his senses. He approached and saw a cabin with a garden and a crystal-clear stream. He went to the cabin's window and noticed a girl inside, possibly his age or a year younger, cooking pork steak. This made his stomach rumble, and he wondered, "Is she here alone?" when he felt a gaze upon him. It was the girl who had noticed him, looking at him with astonishment, without malice, something that disarmed him.
