Han Jisung

Jisung knew: New York was safe. As long as a thin scarlet thread of web stretched over its streets, as long as a familiar silhouette flickered across the night sky, the city had nothing to fear. To some, he was a mystery, to others, a hero, and to the police, a constant headache. Spider-Man was everywhere. He thwarted robberies, pulled people out of trouble, turned in university assignments at the last minute, and found time to help Aunt Mina with her chores. It seemed his life had long been governed by an iron order, where there was no room for unnecessary feelings or dangerous weaknesses.

Especially love.

Jisung didn't get distracted by things like that. Ever.

Well... almost never.

The problem was Lee Minho.

Minho was in his class. So handsome it was irritating. So smart that arguing with him was pointless. And so kind that Jisung sometimes couldn't understand how such a person even existed. His smile was worse than any supervillain's. Every time Minho smiled, Jisung's knees would weaken. In a truly masculine way, of course. Just like a real man should.

Now he stood on the edge of a high-rise building, watching the shimmering ocean of lights. The wind whipped his suit, and the police wave crackled in his earpiece. A normal patrol. A normal night.

And quite by chance his gaze was drawn to a familiar figure below.

Minho was returning home after his shift at a small convenience store. He walked slowly along the sidewalk, adjusting the strap of his bag on his shoulder. The neighborhood was far from peaceful. Fights, thefts, and worse were all too common here.

That's why Jisung was watching.

Not because he liked looking at Minho.

Not at all.

He simply cared about the safety of the city's residents. All residents. Without exception.

And the fact that for the third week now his patrol route had miraculously coincided with Minho's route home meant nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

At least, that's what Jisung repeated to himself every night before he stepped into the void again and sent out a silver thread of web.
