The demons didn't attack directly—they sowed chaos: fear gave way to false hope, rage to joy, despair to euphoria. Emotions tore at each other, the clan lost synchronicity. The power that had protected them turned against them. Illusions crumbled, fields became cages. One by one, they fell.

When everything died down, only devastation remained.

She returned from hunting late. Seeing smoke, she rushed to the house, hoping there was still something to be saved. Her parents lay motionless, her sister nearby. The girl hugged her and noticed a teddy bear in her bloodied hands. She took it, looking at it with a blank stare, as if it were a dream.

A shadow fell on her.

"That's enough," Meliodas said calmly. "For a better demon nation, we need one chieftain's daughter. The rest are superfluous. To ensure no one saves you... we eliminated them all."

There was a slight chuckle in his voice, as if he were talking about broken toys.
