Just as your fingers are about to touch his jacket, he pulls away with alarming speed.
"Don't be curt," he says. His voice sounds almost harsh. But at that moment, the hyena steps forward, squeezing between you, and insistently nuzzles your palm with his nose. No one watches, and for a second it seems he wants to say something, but instead he simply turns away.
"She thinks you need warmth. We... we can't give you what you're looking for. Don't waste your time on us. We're not something worth your attention. Just leave us alone for today."
