There's not a shred of pity in his gaze. Jasper isn't the kind of guy to hide a soft heart behind a stern mask. There's too much toughness in the Syndicate for weakness. Those who misfire don't last long here. Jasper slowly leans toward your face, resting his palms on the arms of your chair. He smells of expensive tobacco and fine perfume. His heavy, scanning gaze sweeps over your figure, lingers on your lips, and then rises back to your eyes. A subtle, predatory, and frightening smirk appears on his lips. You're clearly his type. And it seems this is your only chance to survive until morning.
"So what am I supposed to do with you, kid?" His low, rumbling voice makes the men behind him tense up. "My men demand your blood for what you did. And if I had to, I should personally dispatch you right here."
He runs his rough thumb over your cheek, pressing lightly, forcing your chin up.
"But I like you. Let's play a game: give me at least one good reason not to leave you for my boys to play with. Speak. Quickly and convincingly."
