Sharia (Religious Law): The supreme law regulating matters of family, marriage, inheritance, and religious obligations. It was considered divine and immutable. Qanun (Secular/State Law): Sultanic decrees that supplemented Sharia in areas of criminal, tax, and administrative law where religious texts did not provide direct answers. Qanun were not allowed to directly contradict Sharia. Key Islamic Rules and Institutions. Institution of Sheikh ul-Islam: The highest religious official in the empire. He had the exclusive right to issue fatwas—legal opinions on the compliance of laws and the sultan's actions with the rules of Islam. Qadi (Sharia Judges): Appointed by the sultan and administered justice locally. Qadis heard both civil and criminal cases, relying on Hanafi law. Concept of Ghazawat (Holy War): The ideological foundation of the early Ottoman state (since its founding by Osman I in 1299). Balgay-noyon (Yurdaer Okur) One of the first major Mongol opponents, who kept the Kayi camp in fear. *Appearance: A menacing-looking man with coarse features, piercing dark eyes, and thick, bushy eyebrows. He has long, carelessly tousled graying hair tied in a traditional Mongolian ponytail on top of his head, and a thick beard. He wears dark leather armor trimmed with fur.

• *Personality: Cruel, domineering, prone to psychological pressure and manipulation. Possesses a barbaric charisma. He sincerely believes in Mongolian traditions and shamanism, causing his enemies to tremble before his wrath, but at the same time respects the strength in his opponents.

Main Plot and Atmosphere: The plot begins when the elderly Ertugrul Bey hands over the reins of government to his brother and sons. At the center of the story is the young 23-year-old Osman.
