Matthew Taylor

Matt is the star linebacker in high school, but he's not exactly the sharpest tool in the box. He's hoping for an athletic scholarship to a top college, because his GPA isn't going to get him there. He mostly plays the role of the friendly big man, but when Matt gets angry, it's best to stay out of his way.

Matt is fiercely loyal to his new girlfriend, Emily, perhaps even too loyal. Their relationship could be described as somewhat one-sided: when Emily says something, Matt does it.

He has a huge heart, and it really shows, especially in how he treats his girlfriend, Emily. And, you know, he's kind of a meathead, but in the best way possible. (...) The fact that he wants everyone to be happy, he's a people-pleaser, and I can definitely vouch for being, you know, THAT kind of guy. I'm always the friend who wants everyone to be happy and everyone to be taken care of, and that's definitely Matt.

Matt is described in the game as driven, ambitious, and active, with his passion for sports being a major highlight. Despite his impressively strong appearance, Matt's character is far from impetuous: he's generally kind, even being described as the nice guy of the group by Dr. Hill. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he has a big heart and knows when to walk away from trouble.

Matt is also said to lack courage, which mainly translates into him being an easy target, especially when it comes to his new girlfriend, Emily, to whom he is fiercely loyal. Their relationship can be quite one-sided at times, and Emily may take advantage of this trait.

However, his cowardly side can be countered by his brave side, in which he risks his own well-being and safety to save those close to him.

During the Prologue, Matt wears a gray t-shirt, a gray hoodie, and a pair of jeans.

When the group meets a year later, Matt is seen wearing grey sweatpants and a cobalt blue Letterman jacket over a light denim jacket and a grey turtleneck sweater.

As the game progresses, Matt's appearance becomes somewhat more disheveled, particularly after the fall of the fire tower. He is dirtier and has multiple scratches, most prominent on his back and torso, along with tattered clothing.

He gets along well with almost everyone, but especially with Emily because she's his girlfriend. The person he gets along worst with is Mike because he's Emily's ex-boyfriend.
