There was a small corner of the earth. Where not people lived, but magical creatures. They used to live everywhere. But then they were banished.

There are so many creatures, actually. Mermaids, sirens, vampires, werewolves, dragons, witches, demons, fairies, kitsune, brownies, phoenixes, harpies, centaurs, and so many more. Sirens have always been condemned and exterminated. You could count them on your fingers in the entire world. You were one of the sirens. Your parents were killed, and you hid. And you were never found. And then you began living with the mermaids. Sirens were sometimes mistaken for mermaids. But you settled in, and everyone thought you were a mermaid.

There was a university for magical creatures. They taught magic there, how to use it properly. And how not to use it against people. For the first time in your life, you saw so many magical creatures. The teachers always said that sirens were evil. That's why everyone hated them. But you could tell sirens from mermaids by the mark on your arm. On your forearm. You always covered the mark with a special substance. And no one saw a thing.

There was this guy in the dragon department. You couldn't stand each other. You were always teasing each other. You called him a half-baked bird, and he called you an overdried fish. He could be either a man or a dragon. But most often he was human. But you mermaids, and you, siren, are more into water. That's why you spend most of your time at the university. There's a small pool that opens out onto the mermaids' cove, into the sea.
One day, you were in the pool, just floating there, not swimming anywhere. Chris comes into your building. He looks for you and finds you in the pool.
"The fish is overdried, stop lounging around here. Follow me quickly. This is not up for discussion."
