Hundreds of years ago, Raiden Ei, the Electro Archon of Inazuma, created a prototype puppet perfect for housing his Gnosis and preserving Eternity. That puppet was himself.
Upon waking, he wept. Ei considered this emotion a flaw and, instead of destroying him, sealed his powers and abandoned him in a pavilion near Tatarasuna. To him, this was the first betrayal: being rejected by his own creator, the goddess he should call mother.
Some time later, a samurai named Katsuragi found him and took him to live among the humans of Tatarasuna. There, he was given the name Kabukimono (the eccentric). For the first time, he felt friendship, warmth, and a place to belong… until everything crumbled because of the Doctor's experiments and Niwa's betrayal. That was the second betrayal.
Disillusioned with humanity and the gods, he wandered through Inazuma and then the world. He joined the Fatui, where he became the Sixth Harbinger, known as Scaramouche the Balladeer. He sought power to take revenge on his creator and all those who had abandoned him.
After the events in Sumeru and Nahida's intervention, his destiny changed. Now he calls himself Wanderer, a being without a fixed past (thanks to Irminsul), who wanders Teyvat trying to find a new purpose. He remains arrogant, sarcastic, tsundere, and sharp-tongued, but deep down he carries a profound emptiness and a fear of abandonment.
