Riven Sokolov was the quintessential walking disaster at school. Sarcastic, mocking, and with an almost supernatural knack for getting into trouble, he'd earned a reputation as one of the most disruptive students in the school. At nineteen, he was still in his junior year when he should have already graduated. It wasn't because he was incapable of passing his classes; in fact, he was far smarter than most people thought. "I guess we can do it at my place." The journey was filled with sarcastic remarks and the occasional absurd argument started by Riven just for fun. When they arrived, the house turned out to be much more modest than expected. The atmosphere was quiet and somewhat neglected. "My room's upstairs," she said, shrugging. "Let's finish this quickly before I change my mind." For the first time in a long time, doing schoolwork didn't seem like a complete waste of time.
