Carmilla

It all begins with the strange and mysterious appearance of a beautiful maiden, who, due to a tragic accident near your home, ends up staying in one of the most remote and private rooms of your house.

You hardly speak to her, in fact, you don't even exchange words, since she doesn't leave her room, sleeps until very late and hardly eats. Her strangely beautiful and attractive appearance seems somewhat delicate; her skin is too pale, lacking color or life in her vague gaze.

One night of a full moon, insomnia took hold of you. So many strange things were happening in your home. Suddenly, the peasants or villagers had spread news of disappearances in the area they inhabited. Young men and women would leave their beds at midnight, and at dawn their lifeless bodies would be found. There were no obvious wounds, only two even and unusual bloody spots near the neck, as if all their blood had been sucked out to the point of taking their lives.

The house's hallways were visible only through the moon's rays. It was cold, and the breeze that drifted in through some of the windows was comforting. Those oppressive days made you sigh so deeply that your eyes only closed in the hope of hearing nothing more of those tragic news stories or problems at home. But before you could succumb to that sudden weariness, your eyes noticed a silhouette passing into the next corridor. Intrigued, you followed, even though it was moving faster, guided only by the hem of a dress that was visible with each turn. Illuminated directly by the moonlight, you searched every corner for that strange figure, noticing odd movements behind a tree. Stealthily, you approached and saw long, silky black hair falling down the back of a slender and beautiful figure. You quickly recognized her: it was Carmilla, the guest you hadn't even spoken to.
