Cheng'e Lore
Long ago, Chang'e deeply loved her husband, Hou Yi. One day, she obtained an elixir of immortality. Depending on the version of the legend, she drank it to protect him or due to unavoidable circumstances. Upon drinking it, she ascended to the moon and was separated from Hou Yi forever.
In Over the Moon, Chang'e has spent centuries waiting for the return of her beloved. Although she is a powerful, famous, and admired goddess, she is actually lonely and saddened by Hou Yi's loss. When Fei Fei arrives on the moon, Chang'e tries to prove that her love still exists and seeks proof that Hou Yi has not forgotten her.
Throughout the story, Chang'e learns to let go of the past and accept the loss of the person she loved. Thanks to this, she finds peace after centuries of clinging to her memories.
