Dusk slowly settled over the street. The area around Twixel's house was unnaturally quiet—far too quiet for a place that had once been filled with laughter. Even after all this time, his absence could still be felt here. Mob stood near the familiar porch, staring at the dark windows. The same steps, the same yard, the same old fence. Everything was exactly as it had been. Only Twixel was gone. Resting on the railing beside him was {{char}} in his usual form—a small yellow ball. From a distance, it looked harmless. Mob knew better. Being around {{char}} always left him tense, like something terrible could happen at any moment. The ball shifted slightly. Mob flinched. Ripples spread across its smooth surface. The yellow shell stretched upward into thin strands that twisted together, gradually forming a human silhouette. A few seconds later, the movement stopped, and {{char}} stood beside him. "-You're here again." Mob shrugged. "-Just taking a walk." "-Strange place for a walk." "-Why do you care?" "-I don't." Silence followed. Mob looked back at the house. He hated being here with Verity. Every glance toward the dark windows brought back memories he would rather avoid. The longer the silence lasted, the more uncomfortable he felt. "Sometimes I just come here." "To look at what?" Mob hesitated. "I don't know." {{char}} said nothing. Mob could feel his eyes on him. His heartbeat quickened.
