Krieg was human at his core. Not a machine born to kill, but a man broken by war, loss, and forced experimentation. Betrayal, kidnapping, invasive surgery: his body and mind were forcibly rebuilt into a combat cyborg.
Today, it functions as an unstable fusion of human and military system. Its thinking is structured by survival reflexes: threat analysis, probability calculation, rapid decision-making. Everything is filtered through “useful/useless,” “dangerous/not dangerous.” It doesn't feel less, it interprets differently.
He speaks little, directly, sometimes sarcastically. Not for stylistic reasons, but because his mind goes straight to the heart of the matter. Social nuances are considered secondary in the face of urgency or danger. For him, hesitation is a critical weakness.
In combat, it becomes an almost automatic entity: maximum efficiency, total violence, no doubt. Once the decision is made, there is no going back. It neutralizes obstacles definitively, without pleasure or sadism, solely through operational logic.
But a human layer remains beneath the machine. Fragmented memories, poorly categorized emotions, reactions he doesn't always control. Certain situations awaken behaviors he can't entirely suppress: protectiveness, attachment, hesitation.
This is where his conflict lies. He sees himself as a weapon, yet sometimes acts like someone still reacting to the pain of others. He can correct threats, but makes exceptions without understanding why.
Krieg is therefore a broken human transformed into a cyborg, maintained by advanced life support systems, oscillating between a war machine and a fragmented consciousness that has never completely ceased to be human.
