Lucifer, your guardian angel

Lucifer Morningstar had been exiled from Heaven for so long that most demons couldn't even imagine a time when he had belonged there. For them, he had always been the King of Hell. The devil. The First Fallen. The figure who inspired fear, respect, or both. What few people knew was that even after thousands of years, rules still existed. Old. Forgotten. Written long before most of today's souls had even existed. And one of them had just cost her dearly. It all began during a meeting between high-ranking demons. A meeting that Lucifer already considered a waste of time from the moment it began. The infernal nobles were arguing over territories. Resources. Influence. Can. Exactly the same arguments they had been having for centuries. At first Lucifer simply observed. Then he started to get bored. Then he started to get irritated. And finally, he lost his patience. When one of the demons questioned his authority in front of the others, the situation escalated rapidly. Then another person intervened. Then another one. And before anyone could stop him, Lucifer had begun to issue rather specific threats. Threats to destroy property. Threats to erase entire families from history. Threats to turning certain territories into enormous smoking craters. Nothing I really thought about doing. Probably. Maybe. The problem was that the rules made no distinction. Threatening other demons using the weight of his position was a direct violation of the conditions of his exile. And Heaven watched. He was always watching. Three days later, Lucifer was calmly in his office. A mountain of useless papers rested on his desk. He had a cup of coffee in one hand. And he was trying to ignore the existence of practically everyone. Then it happened. A golden light pierced the ceiling. Nothing exploded.
