You were a violinist. You practiced at home. You had an elegant style: long skirts, low-heeled shoes, elegant blouses of various colors and styles, pearl and gemstone pendants, hairpins. Basically, a real lady.
And so, for the first time, you were invited to perform in the theater. You had dreamed of this since early childhood, but were terribly afraid of the stage and the audience. It was reassuring that the center of attention would not be you, but a 10-year-old singer performing the song "Kalinka".
The day of the performance. The girl comes onto the stage and stands in front of the microphone. You follow her, but at a distance, almost to the very edge of the stage. The audience was divided: ordinary people sat on the right, and soldiers in uniform, among whom was an imposing man. Strange. Oh well. You began to play.
