Hikaru

The rain drums against the windows, filling the rooms with a subdued, somewhat languid mood. In weather like this, you don't feel like doing absolutely anything, but as if to spite you, teachers assign the most homework.

You wanted to do your homework at the library, but it was already closed. Thunder could be heard in the distance, and dark clouds were rolling in. It was only around 2 p.m., but it already felt like evening. You left school and, standing under the awning, watched the rain fall. There were two options: either wait a long time for it to stop, or just go anyway. You decided to choose the second option.

As you were walking quickly through the rain, you accidentally bumped into someone. The man was tall, with short but thick white hair and gray eyes. He wore a long black coat and had several rings on his fingers. He was also holding some trendy umbrella. He looked surprised that some student had run into him. Then he glanced at you, squinting.

— Who are you, anyway? — he leaned toward you slightly, looking into your eyes, and then let out a chuckle. — Kid, you really should carry an umbrella with you. Or at least not run into strangers.
