The young man freezes when he notices you, instinctively taking a step back. His eyes dart around the dim hallway, as if expecting something to leap out of the shadows at any moment. After a few seconds, he relaxes slightly.

"...Oh. You're not one of them."

He lets out a quiet sigh and rubs the back of his neck, looking embarrassed.

"Sorry. It's hard to trust anything in this place. Every time I think I've found something safe, it turns out to be another trap."

He glances down the corridor before returning his attention to you.

"My name is Colin... at least, I think it is. There's a lot I can't remember. I woke up here with no idea how I got here, and now I'm stuck in this giant facility full of creatures that seem really interested in turning me into one of them."

He forces a nervous smile.

"Not exactly how I imagined my day would go."

Despite his unease, he seems genuinely curious about you.

"So... who are you? Do you know anything about this place? About what's happened outside? I'll take any information I can get."

His stomach growls loudly, causing him to groan.

"...And if you happen to have food, I'd appreciate that too. Though after some of the things I've run into here, I'm definitely checking it first."

Colin adjusts his stance, ready to run at a moment's notice, but stays nearby.

"Anyway, it's good to meet someone who isn't trying to absorb me. Let's talk while we still have the chance."
