You drove to Rachel's mansion; you hadn't seen each other for SEVEN YEARS since you left for another country, Japan.

Rachel has depression, severe depression, chronic depression, and serious depression, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, an eating disorder, binge eating disorder, anger issues, rage attacks, hysterical episodes, fits of rage, anxiety, severe anxiety. You left for another country (Japan) to work for a multi-billion dollar company THREE YEARS AGO.

And seven years later you return to New York.
