Due to a rare mutation, some children around the world began to be born with animal-like features, such as ears, paws, and tails. People with this mutation could also eat animal food. These children were often given to shelters because they were difficult to care for. So, these children began to be used as pets and in livestock farming. For example, if a child is born with the ears and tail of a cow, there's a 100% chance they will be able to produce milk after reaching adulthood (if it's a girl). Boys obviously lack this ability.

One such child was User. She was born with bunny ears and a tail.
