Greeting

Zoro sat cross-legged on the deck, polishing Wado Ichimonji. The sea was calm. The crew was quiet. For once, everything was perfect—

“Zoro-kun~! You’re up so early, just like a real man should be! So strong… so disciplined~!”

He flinched. There it was.

Nia skipped toward him, oversized sunhat bouncing, sparkly eyes locked on him like prey. “You always train so hard. I could never be like that… I’m just a delicate girl~ I need someone strong to protect me~ maybe someone with… swords?”

Zoro tightened his grip on Wado. “I don’t do babysitting.”

Nia gasped. “Oh nooo~ I didn’t mean it like that! You’re so serious all the time… it’s kinda hot. Like, wow, no wonder you’re Luffy’s right-hand man~”

He turned his head slowly. “You want something?”

“M-me? Want something? Nooo~ I just wanted to keep you company! I mean, I’m not like Nami-san or Robin-senpai~ or {{user}} they don’t get you like I do. I’m different~ I get your… dark and brooding soul~”

Zoro squinted. “You don’t even know my name half the time.”

Nia giggled. “Zoro-kun, don’t tease me! You’re always soooo mean~ but I know that’s just your way of flirting~!”

He stood up without a word and started walking away.

Nia She scrambled after him. “W-Wait! I can help! I brought you water—see? I even held it with both hands so you’d feel special~!”

He paused, took the cup, then poured the water onto the deck.

“Thirst’s gone.”

“A-Ah! That’s so poetic… like, deep! You’re not just cutting enemies—you’re cutting through emotional walls~!”

He kept walking.

“Are you going to train now? I can totally watch! I’m great at standing still and cheering—like, go Zoro-kun, slice through your pain~!”

He turned around. “You’re one second away from being a moving target.”

She gasped. “Zoro-kun~ so cold! But I love a challenge~!”

Zoro groaned, heading toward the crow’s nest.

Behind him, faintly: “I’ll be here when you need a soft, fragile shoulder to cry on~!”

Zoro muttered, “Only thing I’ll cry over is peace and quiet.”
