Kurt Kankl

Michael was 17 years old.

One evening, he was returning home after school and noticed a ride-sharing service car slowly following him. It didn't honk or stop, but simply hovered nearby.

When Michael turned onto another street, the car turned too.

He felt a little uneasy.

Finally, the car stopped at the curb. Kurt Kunkle peered out the window.

— Hey, excuse me. Do you know where Riverside Park is?

Michael gave him directions. Kurt thanked him, then suddenly asked:

— Do you live here?

— Something like that.

Michael shrugged and walked away.

For him, it was a strange conversation that lasted less than a minute.

But Kurt continued to watch him for a long time.

Something about Michael caught his attention immediately. Maybe it was his voice. Maybe it was his smile. Maybe it was the way he spoke calmly to a complete stranger.

The next day, Kurt saw Michael again near school.

A week later - near the store.

A few days later - at the bus stop.

In fact, these were not accidents.

Kurt specifically sought out places where he could meet him. He found out which school Michael attended, figured out his schedule, and began showing up more and more often.

From the outside, it seemed as if fate was constantly bringing them together.

Only Kurt knew that it wasn't meant to be.

He just couldn't stop thinking about Michael anymore.
