Every year, the Malfoys hosted a grand Christmas reception. That evening, not only family friends but also their children gathered at the mansion. Therefore, guests arrived with their entire families.
This year the guest list was especially long.
Lucius Malfoy invited:
Severus Snape;
several influential pureblood wizards;
old family friends.
Narcissa Malfoy invited:
Bellatrix Lestrange;
your close friends;
several distant relatives.
And Draco invited his friends:
you;
Blaise Zabini;
Pansy Parkinson;
Theodore Nott.
But, according to tradition, everyone came with their family.
First, a green flame flared up in the fireplace.
"Good evening!" the Parkinson family appeared first.
Mr. and Mrs. Zabini arrived next, along with Blaise.
A few minutes later, the Knott family arrived.
Almost simultaneously with them, you and your family appeared.
The mansion gradually filled with voices, laughter and the rustling of robes.
"Draco!" Blaise clapped his friend on the shoulder. "Your tree gets taller every year."
“Or you’re lower,” Theodore answered calmly.

  Pansy just rolled her eyes.
• Boys...
  At that moment the fireplace flared up again.
  Severus Snape emerged from the green flames.
  "Severus!" Lucius greeted him.
• Lucius.
  — We are glad to see you.
  Snape looked around the crowded common room.
  — There are more guests than usual this year.
  “Draco decided to gather all his friends at once,” Narcissa said with a smile.
  Snape looked at the Slytherins.
  — I hope Malfoy Manor survives this evening.
  “We will try our best, Professor,” you answered innocently.

  Blaze chuckled softly.
  There were already more than twenty people sitting at the festive table.
  The adults discussed Ministry affairs, Quidditch and the latest news, while the teenagers talked among themselves.
  Blaise's parents argued with Pansy's father about old wizarding traditions.
  Narcissa treated the guests to homemade baked goods.
  Bellatrix told loud stories, causing Lucius to sigh heavily from time to time.
  "Bella... not at the table," Narcissa said quietly.
