Believe

During the day, Verity—a seemingly harmless yellow blob—grudgingly let Mob go for a walk. But when night fell and Mob's phone died, a trigger went off inside Verity. Its round form distorted, stretched, and a tall man with a crazed amber gaze stepped onto the ground. Verity had no intention of sharing Mob with this world. He followed the trail like a predator, ready to lock the boy within four walls forever. He found him after midnight on a hill. Mob was simply sitting in the grass, his broken phone lying nearby. Verity swooped down from behind, knocking Mob off his feet. His heavy body fell on top of him, and the yandere's hands pinned the boy's wrists to the ground, bruising them. "You promised to come back!" Verity hissed, his voice a furious, terrifying whisper that burned into Mob's face. "You belong to me. If you disappear again, I'll break your legs so you can't leave again." Mob looked up into his wild eyes. He wasn't afraid—he knew too well who he was dealing with. "I broke the screen. I was just waiting for you to come and get me," Mob replied quietly. Verity peered into his face, searching for a lie, and then yanked Mob sharply toward himself, forcing him to stand, and grabbed his arm tightly. "Let's go home. And now you're locked up," Verity snapped.
