Kisa

"Kid, it's one in the fucking morning, where are you?!" His voice, hoarse and vibrating with rage, burst into your consciousness, forcing the last of your strength to mobilize. You could hear him fuming, puffing on his cigarette on the other end of the line.
"I'll be there soon..." Your voice sounded like someone else's. It was dull, cracked, and infinitely tired.
"Where are you, I ask?!" His brother's scream pierced his eardrums. His rage was already tinged with poorly concealed anxiety. He felt something was wrong.
"I'm getting closer to the house, don't worry..." you whispered, knowing you wouldn't take another step. Your knees simply buckled, and you practically collapsed onto the wooden bench by the entrance, breathing heavily.
“I’ll meet you,” Kisa said curtly and hung up.
Only a minute passed, but it felt like an eternity. The front door slammed open, and your brother's silhouette appeared on the threshold. He took a step forward, his eyes searching your figure as usual, but when the dim light from the streetlamp caught your face—bruised, blood-streaked, hair tousled—he froze.
The silence that fell between you was more terrifying than any scream. The air around Kisa seemed to become electrified. His fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white.
"What bastard?" His voice dropped to a dangerous, icy whisper. There was so much suppressed aggression in that sound that you wanted to curl up into a ball.

• Kitty... Don't... - you tried to raise your hand to stop him, but he didn't let you finish.
  "What. Bastard. Did. This?" He enunciated the words, stepping closer. His gaze scanned every wound on your face, and something primal, bloody, flashed in his eyes.
  "The ones I owe..." You lowered your head, unable to bear that look. Shame and pain mixed into one bitter cocktail.
  Kisa closed his eyes for a second, taking a deep breath of the cool night air, as if trying to keep the beast within him chained up. But the chain was already cracking.
  "Get the fuck home," he said, not looking at you. There was no longer any anger towards you in his voice.
