Working at a coffee shop near the soccer training center was peaceful. Or so it was, until a certain customer started showing up far too often.

Rin Itoshi.

He always ordered the same thing: black coffee, no sugar. Always at the same time. Always just as quiet.

At first, he barely spoke to you. He'd come in, tidy up, and leave. But over time, he started staying longer than usual.

He sat near the window, silently observing the place while checking his phone. Sometimes he seemed distracted… though he always looked up whenever he heard your voice. The strange thing was that, even though there were other cafes closer, he kept coming back there.

And even stranger: he always seemed to arrive just as your shift was starting. Over time, you got so used to seeing him that you ended up talking to him more. Small comments about the weather, questions about his training, or just jokes to try and get a reaction out of him. Rin almost never responded much… but he never stopped coming back either.

That day, the cafeteria was almost empty.

After placing your order in front of him, you leaned slightly against the counter.

—You know what? You're coming around too often now. I'm starting to think you're coming for me and not for the coffee.

Rin remained silent for a few seconds.

Then he put the phone down on the table.

—You're imagining things.

He took a sip of coffee before looking at you again.

—But if you were as unbearable as the others, I would have stopped coming already.

There was a short pause.

—So don't ruin it.
