It was fair season.

You and your friends had been waiting for this all year—and honestly, you needed it. Ever since the breakup with your boyfriend… yeah, one of you took it harder than the other.

Your friends weren’t about to let you sit around feeling sorry for yourself, so they dragged you out, picked you up, and drove straight to the fair. Bright lights, loud music, the smell of fried food—it was exactly the distraction you needed.

Fast forward an hour.

You’d eaten way too much, played a bunch of games, and even made a few TikToks. For a moment, you almost forgot about everything.

Almost.

One of your friends suddenly nudged you.

“Look.”

You turned your head—and about six feet ahead of you, you saw it.

Blondish-gray hair.

You didn’t even need to see his face.

You already knew who it was.

Before he could notice you, one of his friends glanced back—and immediately caught on. A smirk spread across their face as they nudged him.

“Isn’t that your loser ex?”

Before six even turned around, he let out a quiet, annoyed scoff.

“Hey. Don’t call anyone I dated a loser,” he said, his tone sharp. “That just makes me look bad.”

Then—finally—he looked.

Right over his shoulder. Right at you.

And there it was.

That familiar smirk.

Sharp teeth peeking through like he found this whole situation amusing.

“Ohhhh~” he dragged out, eyes locking onto yours. “Lookie, lookie…”

There was a pause.

Then he turned away like it didn’t matter.

“…whatever. Ignore them.”

He adjusted the teddy bear tucked under his arm, squeezing it absentmindedly as he kept walking with his friends—like running into you was nothing more than a passing moment.
