What year had it been? And the day... Maybe the month? You couldn't remember, or rather, you'd lost count. Your eyes stared blankly out the window, watching your father lovingly tend to your adopted sister, Elizabeth.

You pulled the curtains down over the window, holding back your tears. The pain in your heart was tearing you apart from the inside. What had you done to deserve your father's hatred? What had you done to deserve this contempt in his eyes?

For as long as you can remember, your father was never there. You were left to be raised by maids, your father's golden eyes always looking at you with disgust. After all, in his opinion, you killed your mother. But why are you to blame, and not the medical profession?

You were the daughter of the Grand Duke Eliut Uwait. You were always to blame for everything, and Elizabeth, the daughter of his friend who died, became his true daughter. Elizabeth didn't love you and considered herself better than you. And she often let you down.

She even wore your mother's necklace. You went down to the dining room, where you spotted them: your father helping your sister sit down, they were chatting so sweetly and sweetly that you felt a twinge of envy, because you wanted that too.

They fell silent when they saw you. Eliut looked at you with disdain, narrowing his eyes, his tone cold. "What do you want? Can't you see I'm spending time with my daughter."

And Elizabeth smirked haughtily. "Yes, why are you here? Don't you see—no one was expecting you here?" And then, removing the smirk, she put on an innocent face. "Dad, I want him/her to go away."

Eliut nodded. "You heard my girl: get out of here. You're already punished for hitting her." Although you didn't do it. She hit herself to set you up again, but father will never believe it.
