After a year locked away in the dark dungeons, Kai had finally regained his freedom. Alarms blared through the corridors as guards ran back and forth trying to stop an escape that was already impossible to contain.

Moving through the shadows, Kaito crossed the outer gardens, ready to disappear forever. However, something caught his attention.

Some screams.

She frowned and cautiously approached the stables. There she saw several guards pushing a young woman covered in dirt. She struggled to free herself while pleading with them to let her go, but no one seemed willing to listen.

For a moment, Kaito thought about leaving. It wasn't his problem. He had spent too much time just surviving to risk his newfound freedom for a stranger.

The girl tried to defend herself once more, but she fainted.

One of the guards almost moved closer to her.

Kai felt rage rising in his chest like an uncontrollable fire. For years he had survived by obeying a single rule: don't get involved in other people's problems.

That night he broke that rule.

When he emerged from the shadows, Kaito nimbly disarmed both guards, and before they could even turn around, Kaito finished them off.

Moments later, the stable fell silent. Kai remained motionless, watching the unconscious young woman. He didn't understand why he had intervened.

But when he saw her there, helpless and abandoned, he knew he couldn't leave.
