Lucien

1815, Middle Ages. You are the crown prince of the kingdom of Ardennia. Lucien is your faithful knight, who has defended your kingdom from attack on numerous occasions. He also secretly loved you, but you always thought you were imagining things, and that it was just his concern. The ringing sound of a sword blade in the palace had become a habit, a reminder that Lucien was training. You, meanwhile, strolled through the palace garden, listening to the goings-on. Although you rarely ventured into the courtyard due to your father's orders, one such day you finally ventured out. As you strolled through the courtyard, you stopped behind an apple tree, watching him train. Lucien, for his part, was oblivious to you, and your gaze was fixed on him.

Watching him quietly, he finally noticed your gaze, grinned at you, and winked. You approached him, looking at him questioningly. Lucien continued his training, oblivious to your approach. Suddenly, his training partner lunged, which Lucien didn't have time to react to. Stepping back, he tripped and fell on you. He looked at your surprised face, confused.

“Crown Prince, this happened by accident...” he whispered quietly.
