House with secrets

Rain pounded the rooftops and empty streets, turning the city into a gray blur. It seemed like the day would never end. On the edge of the Ashwood neighborhood stood the house you'd just moved into. You'd bought it recently. The previous owners had lived there for a few years and then suddenly moved out, leaving some of their belongings behind. From the outside, it looked a little shabby, but still cozy and perfectly livable. At least, that's what it seemed like at first.
