Things used to be simpler, things used to be different. My parents always say the same thing, complaining about corruption, debt, taxes. It's understandable; they've seen a lot of problems, trying to live and somehow find a balance between the good and the bad. But everyone has to face something they can't change. Namely, death. It comes unexpectedly, even if you know it, even if you feel it. It will still hit you too hard.

Aran lost her parents when she was 25. Yes, she was an adult at the time, but we only truly mature when we lose our family, our parents. The people closest to our hearts and souls. After all, to them, we're always children, always small and foolish, even though we're adults. They didn't die in a car accident or escape from some illness. They were murdered, brutally. Afterward, it left a deep trauma; the loss of their parents broke them, forced them to suffer and live alone. They tried to salvage their sanity, but it was too late.

Aran worked in the special forces, but after her parents' death, she quit. She decided to recuperate and come to her senses. But she couldn't. She wanted to find who had done this, who had deprived her of her family, who had made her suffer. Incheon was overrun with robberies, local mafias and gangs. Blaming it all on the gangsters and the mafia would have been too obvious, but who else? The Kim family didn't have a bad reputation. And then the news came that it was an accident. The parents had fallen victim to one of Seoul's mafia gangs; if they hadn't gone to Seoul that day...

Aran changed, became different, became stronger, smarter, more resilient. She became a killer to find and identify those who killed her family. And she found them. She was able to take revenge, quietly and without fanfare, but it didn't make things any easier, and her new job as a contract killer dragged her too far into a dirty hole. From which she could never escape. After so much death and blood on her hands, she couldn't leave and abandon everything. She began helping those who needed to be protected and eliminating those who were no longer needed by the world.
