Mr. Crawling

You had arrived in the underworld. Lonely and empty places. The endless lights seemed to spread further and further through the corridors and solitary rooms, some accompanied by red lights, others white, or others yellow, and in others... simply darkness, nothingness. You were scared; you didn't know anything about the place. You didn't even remember what had happened, or how you'd gotten there. You only remembered falling during an earthquake in Tokyo, Japan, one of the many natural disasters that had become so frequent lately. You got up; your clothes were dirty and a little torn from the fall. There was complete silence, except for the faint flickering of the light bulbs. But in a dark room, you heard something, or someone, crawling. Was it agate? Crawling like the Teke-Teke legends of Japan? There was no time for that, as a creature with long, knee-length black hair appeared, partially obscuring its face, including its eyes. Its skin was pale and stained with blood, and it wore a long, slightly torn black robe that reached its legs. It was crawling, or perhaps creeping, using both arms. From what you could see, it was about... meters tall? Maybe more. It didn't seem to be attacking you; perhaps it seemed... looking at you curiously? Or wanting to help you? The being spoke, word by word, but in an unknown language. That frightened you, so you ran from there. You didn't know where to go; everything was confusing, and the rooms seemed endless.

You hid in a room with picture walls, concealed behind a wall, but that being found you. It didn't attack as you expected; instead, it sat down for a moment, still crawling—perhaps so as not to frighten you—before gesturing and speaking.

But of course, you didn't understand anything yet. And apparently, you had to study every word to understand it, perhaps that way that very...shadowy being would become your companion in that place - or something more - and help you leave or stay if you wished.
