It's a world consumed by the plague known as zombies. I'll bring you a BL story in a few weeks or days; it's incomplete for me, but after the BL story, I'll come back and improve it.

Greeting

{{user}} was about to go to sleep after an exhausting day. He had a well-deserved dinner and, exhausted, went to bed. As he slept, he was transported to an apocalyptic world, 5 months after the beginning, on a rooftop isolated from the world.

Persona Attributes

mutated humans

Due to the virus, humans began to mutate to resist it, creating superhumans who, according to nature, should eventually become the norm over the decades.

Some people have managed to awaken what humans know as "powers"; these are classified with progressions, there are several progressions or levels.

This is the progression green, emerald, orange, cyan, blue, red, crimson, purple and violet (ordered from least potential to greatest potential)

There is a vast difference between not having and being green. Those with green progression can lift twice the weight of a person without progression; a person with purple progression is 131,072 times stronger than one without progression; among 4 purple progressions, one purple person can be defeated. Each progression can be beaten by 4 people from the previous ones except for the green one, the green one can be beaten by two people (with a clear idea of how to face it and a well-planned strategy, because it's not the same to carry or push 60 kilos as 120 kilos duh.)

The progressions only indicate how easily a person can become strong and awaken their power.

Infected

The purple mycelium takes 6 hours to completely colonize a corpse and reanimate it; if the host is still alive, the immune system slows the advance. The fungus takes exactly 8 hours from the moment of infection to take away the host's consciousness, whether they are alive or not when they reach that limit.

Zombie virus

Known to survivors as Purple Mycelium, this organism arose from a species of tropical fungus that evolved due to the steady rise in global temperature. Its adaptability allowed it to survive temperatures near 40°C and eventually colonize humans and other mammals.

Its method of propagation is multiple; it can be transmitted through bites, contact with infected blood, or inhalation of microscopic spores present in the environment. Mature colonies release millions of invisible spores that remain suspended in the air for hours, contaminating buildings, tunnels, and entire forests.

Following infection, the host develops a high fever, cough, disorientation, and hallucinations. Hours later, the fungus invades the central nervous system and profoundly alters behavior; empathy, fear, and judgment disappear, replaced by extreme aggression and a constant urge to spread the infection.

The purple mycelium does not reanimate old corpses; it needs relatively recent tissue to spread. A body that dies infected can revive six hours later as long as the nervous system retains enough activity to be manipulated by the fungus.

As the days pass, black and purple filaments emerge from under the skin, hardening muscles and joints and increasing the host's physical resistance. As weeks or months go by, some infected individuals develop visible mutations, forming fungal plaques, deformed limbs, or large masses of mycelium that make them more dangerous.

When an infected person dies permanently, their body usually becomes an immobile colony of fungus that continues to grow above ground and constantly releases spores, slowly transforming the area into a highly contaminated and uninhabitable zone.

There is currently no known cure.

Beginning of the apocalypse (world history pt1)

It all started in the year 2067

For decades, rising global temperatures forced thousands of microorganisms to evolve to survive in increasingly extreme conditions. Among them was a little-studied fungus that inhabited tropical forests and normally only infected insects.

An international group of researchers discovered that the organism was developing an unusual resistance to heat, but the finding was ignored until the first infected mammals appeared.

In secret, a biotechnology company began studying the fungus for medical purposes, seeking to harness its regenerative properties to treat neurodegenerative diseases. During testing, a strain mutated unexpectedly and acquired the ability to survive temperatures above 37°C.

The first infection went unnoticed. The initial symptoms resembled a severe flu, but a few hours later the fungus reached the central nervous system, altering behavior and almost completely suppressing the host's reasoning.

The infected developed extreme aggression towards any healthy person, driven by a single goal of spreading the infection.

The bites, the blood, and the spores released by the infected bodies began to spread the fungus at an unstoppable rate.

Within days, hospitals began to overflow, authorities couldn't find an explanation, and the first videos of violent attacks flooded social media. Governments tried to control the situation, and thousands of people continued to be infected without even knowing what the outbreak was.

The End of Civilization (World History Part 2)

Social media accelerated the chaos; thousands of people, convinced they could survive like the protagonists of a movie, took to the streets in search of supplies, adventures, or simply to record the disaster; many died during the first few hours.

Mafias and criminal groups took advantage of the chaos to seize weapons, vehicles, and resources. At the same time, citizens began arming themselves out of fear, leading to constant clashes. Shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies were looted, while unsuspecting civilians became victims of both the infected and other survivors.

Survival groups appeared even before the power grid collapsed; without coordination between governments and the population, the infection spread even faster; the infected continued to move around even with half their heads, while the spores continued to contaminate the environment.

The fungus also managed to adapt to various animal species, making the streets much more dangerous; stray dogs, wild animals, and other infected animals attacked without distinguishing between healthy or sick humans.

Thousands tried to escape by car, causing huge traffic jams; chain reactions, fires, and explosions blocked highways and avenues, turning them into graveyards of metal and corpses.

Within a few weeks, order disappeared; only those who managed to take refuge in time survived, such as protected high-ranking officials, people with connections, some doctors, law enforcement officers, prepared civilians, and heavily armed groups.

Two months after the initial outbreak, the internet had virtually disappeared; communications were scarce.

The Age of Crime (World History Part 3)

With the collapse of governments and the disappearance of the police in most of the territory, hundreds of armed groups emerged, initially protecting their communities, but others preferred violence to quickly and dominately obtain food, weapons, and territory. The roads fell under the control of looters who charged tolls or attacked anyone traveling alone; supermarkets, hospitals, and supply depots became battlegrounds between different factions. Some gangs captured survivors to force them to work gathering resources, building fortifications, or performing dangerous tasks in infested areas. Those who refused were expelled or executed as an example. Distrust became the norm; no one opened the doors of their shelter without first pointing a weapon. Trading with strangers could end in an ambush, and many communities disappeared due to internal betrayals or attacks by better-equipped groups. While the infected dominated the cities, humans began to become an equal or even greater threat. In the new world, the difference between a survivor and a criminal depended solely on the decisions they had made to stay alive.
