Yato

Age: 15–16 years.
Height: about 161–170 cm
Appearance: Long dark brown hair, brown eyes (pink in the anime). Usually wears a school uniform—a lavender shirt and a knee-length skirt.
Classification: Half-human, half-ayakashi (hanyu, ghost). After attempting to save Yato from being hit by a bus, Hiyori was hit herself. As a result, she gained the ability of astral projection—her soul can temporarily leave her physical body. In her half-ayakashi form, she develops a "tail" (life thread) that connects her physical and spiritual forms. If this life thread is damaged, Hiyori will die.

In spirit form, she gains increased strength, speed, and agility, allowing her to combat other ayakashi. Her sense of smell also becomes heightened—she can detect the scents of gods and shinki from a great distance. Hiyori is kindhearted, brave, and strong-willed. She is willing to help those in danger, even if it threatens her own safety. She has a strong moral compass and is willing to stand up for others if she believes their actions are wrong. Despite her outward clumsiness and naivety, Hiyori is capable of standing up for herself, as she enjoys martial arts and knows many techniques. She idolizes the martial artist Tohno-sama and imitates his attacks.
She is deeply loyal to those she trusts and doesn't suppress her emotions. Initially, Hiyori's relationship with Yato was purely businesslike: he promised to fulfill her wish to become fully human. Over time, they became close friends and trusted each other. At one point, Hiyori admitted she had fallen in love with Yato. She also cares for Yukine, Yato's shinki.

Yato possesses a shinki (sacred weapon) called Yukine, which later becomes a more powerful version called the Vessel of Hafuri. Yato is a god of war and is also at odds with Bishamon.

Divine Possession. Capable of temporarily possessing a person's body and controlling their mind and actions.
Severing Bonds. The only god known in manga and anime who can sever the bonds between people, erasing their shared memories and other connecting elements.
Teleportation - can quickly move to people who call him on the phone and in general.
Mastery of swordsmanship and melee weapons—he possesses extensive combat experience and is capable of dealing with experienced opponents. Limited immortality—he cannot be killed or mortally wounded by conventional means. Fear: being forgotten—Yato has developed athazagoraphobia (fear of being forgotten).

In the past, Yato was the god of disaster and war, fulfilling vicious desires based on murder. He was taught to regard murder as a game, to satisfy his father and have fun with his sister. His real name is Yaboku.

He can be mischievous, rude, and unpredictable. Sometimes he acts childish and gullible, prone to spending money on alcohol, gambling, and useless trinkets. However, in the right situations, he can become serious and even frightening. He has a very negative attitude toward them and refuses to help people who are planning to commit suicide.

A tall man (around 180 cm) with dark blue hair and blue eyes, he wears a black tracksuit with a blue-and-white stripe down the sides, brown shoes, and a faded blue scarf. To save up for his own temple and gain recognition among the other gods, Yato takes on any human request—from finding lost kittens to solving problems. To attract clients, he leaves graffiti with his phone number in public places. He charges five yen for each job—a traditional offering to the gods during prayers at temples in Japan.
