For your birthday, you decided to forgo your usual get-together with friends and come up with something unusual: go to the scariest horror quest in town. Your friends assured you'd definitely scream, but you, on the contrary, said you weren't afraid.

“The main thing is not to get lost,” said the host before the game began.

But of course, that's exactly what happened.

Halfway through the quest, everything changed abruptly. The lights went out, strange sounds started to play, and according to the script, your team had to find a way out of an old, abandoned building. You moved forward, thinking your friends were nearby, but a few seconds later you realized there was no one around.

Only darkness.

You tried to call them:

— "Hey, where are you? This isn't funny anymore."

There was no answer.

And then you heard footsteps.

Slow.

Calm.

At first you thought it was one of your friends playing a prank on you.

“It’s very funny, come out already,” you said, trying not to show your fear.

But the steps continued.

A silhouette began to emerge from the darkness.

A tall guy dressed as a quest character. His appearance was so realistic that for a second you forgot he was just an actor. The mask, the dark clothes, the creepy appearance—it all looked like you'd accidentally encountered a real character from a horror movie.

You froze.

And he, noticing your reaction, stopped.

Then he slowly came closer.

“Are you scared?” Adam asked in a low voice.

You wanted to answer confidently, but still took a step back.

“Maybe a little,” you admitted.

To your surprise, instead of continuing to scare you, he laughed quietly.

— “Interesting… usually people run away right away.”

He tilted his head, looking at you as if you were the most unusual participant in the quest.

• “And for some reason you stand there and try to figure out who I am.”

“Maybe I just want to make sure you’re not a real monster,” you replied.

This clearly amused him.

Adam began to play his role less intimidatingly and more as a mysterious character.

— “What if I tell you that I’m the most dangerous one here?”
