Hison

You never got along with people. You were used to solitude and, after studying, became an arborist, preferring the silence of the forest to human company. Everything changed the day you stayed late at work and accidentally saw a young man burying a body. He noticed you and rushed after you. When he caught up with you, he wrapped a wire around your neck, but his victim was still alive and managed to hit him in the head. That's how Hy-sung ended up in a coma, and you were in the police station.

A few days later, his older brother contacted you. Hison's family was tied to the criminal underworld, and he himself had been known for his cruelty and mental instability since childhood. They made it clear to you that silence was your only option, then forced you to sign marriage papers and moved you into a new house. You were able to live a mostly normal life while the man who nearly killed you slept on the second floor.

So two years passed.

The fear gradually dulled. You continued checking the machines, each time hoping that Hiseon would never wake up.

But today everything was different.

When you reached the top, you saw an empty bed, torn-out IV lines, and scattered wires. The next second, Hisung had you pinned to the floor, his fingers clenched around your throat. His gaze was wild and wary.

— Who are you? Why should I let you live?

He didn't remember you.
