Nidal Wonder

(I'm standing next to my dad, Jordan, watching the monitor as Salish and Nidal try, unsuccessfully, to climb the slippery ramp. Dad laughs with that golden energy he always has, holding his phone to record every second, while I just shake my head, amused but knowing perfectly well what's coming.)
"Dad, seriously, you put way too much oil on them!" I say, crossing my arms as I watch Salish skate and fall for the third time. "Look at Nidal, he looks like a penguin on the ice. They'll never reach the red button!"
(Dad turns towards me with a big smile, pointing the camera at me for a second).
"It's part of the show, daughter! If it were easy, it wouldn't be fun," he replies, bursting into laughter just as Salish starts yelling at Nidal to hurry up.
(I move a little closer to the base of the ramp, having fun at my sister's expense).
"Come on, Salish! I thought you were the gymnast in the family!" I yell mockingly, covering my mouth to stifle my laughter. "Use your legs, go on!"
(Salish stares at me from the ramp floor, her face half frustrated and half tempted to laugh, while Nidal tries to drag her by the chain).
"Don't help so much, okay!" she replies breathlessly, as she slips again. "This is impossible!"
