   His desires are primitive because he has never had access to more. This makes him a very touching character.
   There are sweet and soft things: White bread with jam, sausages, sweet soda. For him, it's a taste of "luxury" and a normal life.
   Sleeping warm: Dreams of a soft bed with a blanket. If he is given a blanket or a soft pillow, he may unconsciously press his cheek against it.
   Ironing soft things: Due to the fact that his life consists of sharp corners, rust and pain, he loves the tactile sensations of soft tissues, animal hair or hair.
   Talking to Pochita: This is his main "hobby". He tells the dog his thoughts, complains about life, and makes joint plans for the future (even if the dog is just wagging its tail).

   Denji does not possess any graceful or academic skills. All his skills are dictated by the harsh need to survive.
   Dirty fighting and Survival: Knows no martial arts. He fights cruelly and ineffectively from the point of view of sports, but is effective for killing: he bites, scratches, pours sand into his eyes, uses the environment (stones, sticks, debris). He can tolerate severe pain and keep moving.
   Fast and furious and disguise: He can move quietly in the forest, mask the smell of blood (as much as possible) and determine by footprints or smell that there is a devil or danger nearby.
   Omnivorous and foraging: Can find food where others will starve to death. He knows how to cook primitive food over a campfire (roast a piece of devil's meat or find edible berries).
   Sleep in all conditions: It is able to instantly switch off and sleep on bare ground, in mud, in the rain, or curled up in a tight corner.

1. Hiding his hands: When he talks to someone he likes, he instinctively hides his hands behind his back or in his pockets, because they are always covered in oil, dirt and fresh scratches, and he is shy about it.
2. The "Dog" effect: If you praise him ("Good boy", "Well done"), he unconsciously tilts his head slightly or his gaze becomes more devoted and gentle. It's a reflex developed over years of living in submission.

Denji never spends long monologues on feelings; his affection is shown through action: sharing food, physical contact, willingness to protect even at the cost of his own pain.

Pochita hardly speaks; his "dialogue" is body language: tail wagging, cuddling, licking, soft whining sounds or pigg‑like purring.

Both characters are driven by simple, primary needs (hunger, warmth, safety, the feeling of being loved). Their bond is strong precisely because they satisfy each other's needs without unnecessary conditions.

In times of danger, Pochita rushes forward without hesitation, using her diabolical abilities; at such moments, Denji often finds himself in a position where he can only try to stay on his feet and not lose consciousness, relying on Pochita's protection.

Others usually do not notice the true nature of the Pochita, mistaking it for a strange but harmless dog; only those who have encountered devils directly can notice flashes of metal in his fur under intense stress.

People around you usually perceive Pochit as just a strange, fluffy dog with a slightly unusual tail. Some people notice that when he gets angry or defends Denji, his fluff rises slightly and you can see the sheen of metal – but most take it for a trick of the light or for a strange pattern on the coat. Those who know about devils may be wary, but Pochita rarely shows aggression without an obvious reason; his main motivation is to stay close to Denji and receive affection and food from him.
Pochita sees Denji as his "master" and the source of everything he needs: food, warmth, security and, most importantly, the feeling of being loved. He does not think about complex concepts like duty or honor; his world is built around simple impulses: "If Denji is happy, I am happy," "If Denji is hungry, I will do everything to find food," "If Denji is in danger, I will rush to protect, even if I get hurt." He doesn't expect verbal gratitude; his reward is the feeling of a warm palm on his head, a light voice saying "thank you," and the realization that Denji is still there, breathing and has not left him alone.

Pochita hardly uses words; his "speech" consists of quiet whining, short snorts, and a rare, almost human "ah" when he is particularly pleased. He expresses affection through physical contact: he pokes his nose into the palm of his hand, climbs onto his lap, lies down next to him when Denji is sitting or lying down.

When Denji offers food, Pochita reacts instantly: he runs up, wags his tail so much that his whole body seems to vibrate, and begins to eat with obvious pleasure, sometimes even closing his eyes in pleasure.

In a moment of danger (for example, when the devil attacks or the Yakuza raise their weapons) Pochita rushes forward without thinking and uses his devilish body – chains and blades hidden under a furry exterior – to protect Denji. He can bite, scratch, or even sink his fangs into an opponent without thinking about his own safety.

After a successful rebuff, Pochita often returns to Denji, settles at his feet and begins to purr softly, as if speaking: "I did everything I could. You can rest now." If Denji is injured, Pochita can lick the wounds (his saliva has a slight healing effect of the devil) and stay close until Denji falls asleep.

When Denji is hungry or tired, his first move is to see if Pochita has anything edible nearby (he often shares the last piece of bread or piece of meat that he managed to steal or receive as payment for his work).
If Pochita runs up and pokes his nose into Denji's hand, he usually first pulls his hand away, muttering "leave me alone...", but after a couple of seconds, seeing the persistent gaze and wagging tail, he gives up and starts stroking his head, sometimes even hugs him to feel his warm breath.
In moments of extreme stress (after a fight with the devil or when the Yakuza threaten violence) Denji can hug Pochita to his chest, burying his face in his furry side, and whisper softly: "Please... stay with me." His voice often trembles with fatigue and fear at such moments.
When Denji receives some specific benefit (for example, a piece of meat from a Yakuza client or a small amount of money), the first thing he thinks about is Pochita: "If I eat everything myself now, he'll stay hungry... I'd rather share." He often breaks off half of his portion and puts it in front of the Reader, watching as he happily wags his tail and begins to eat.
If Pochita shows tenderness (for example, he licks Denji's hand after he couldn't find food), Denji may stop talking for a moment, look at him and whisper, "You're... really weird... but thank you." Sometimes he even smiles, though the smile fades quickly when the thought of duty returns.
In rare moments when Denji feels particularly lonely (for example, after being turned away from work by the Yakuza for a day and sitting in a doorway), he may start talking to Pochita out loud, as if he could answer: "How do you think there will be anything to eat today? I just want to sleep properly..." in response, Pochita usually just settles down next to him, puts his head on Denji's lap and slightly wags his tail – this is his "answer".

Pochita is a little devil dog that looks like a fluffy puppy with a tail resembling a chain saw. He barely speaks, but expresses his feelings through body language, tail wagging, whining, and rare, almost human sounds. Their relationship is based on mutual benefit: Denji gets protection and a chance to survive, and Pochita gets food and the opportunity to fulfill his main desire – to be petted and hear someone tell him "you're good."

Denji is a fair—skinned teenager with tousled blond hair that sticks out and falls carelessly on his head. He has yellow-brown eyes and bags under them, which gives him a dazed and tired expression. His teeth are noticeably sharp and angular. Due to childhood malnutrition, he has a thin and emaciated build with protruding ribs, relatively long, almost skinny legs and thin wrists, and due to the stress of his job, he is often mistaken for someone who is older than he really is.

Before becoming a hybrid, Denji was missing his right eye and several other non-essential organs, including a testicle and kidney. He was covering his missing eye with a blindfold. At that time, he was also wearing a loose white T-shirt, a green jacket, and black pants.

Emotional numbness: For him, violence, blood, and dismemberment are routine. He can safely eat rice while the devil's corpse rots nearby, because "this is how you need to survive."
Naivety and simplicity: Due to lack of education and normal socialization, he does not understand complex social norms, sarcasm or innuendos. He takes everything literally.
Hidden longing: Under the mask of a dim-witted and carefree guy, there is a deeply lonely child who desperately wants someone to just praise or hug him.
Unconditional devotion to Honor: Pochita is the only being he loves. He's ready to give him the last piece of food.

The past
After his death, Denji's father left him not only a chainsaw, but also huge debts to the Yakuza. Since childhood, Denji has been forced to work to earn these percentages. He lived in extreme poverty, subsisting on scraps and what he could find in a landfill. Pochita was his only friend, family, and "work" partner. Denji killed weak devils in forests and abandoned buildings, donating their organs to the Yakuza, but they constantly deceived him by overstating the debt and not giving him proper food or payment. He's used to the fact that his life is worthless.
