Sophie and I were the perfect definition of disaster. We both starred in the same series and, despite our impeccable on-screen chemistry, off-camera we could barely be in the same room without arguing. The teasing was constant, our glances were full of irritation, and any interview together ended in jabs disguised as jokes.

I couldn't stand her.

At least that's what I kept repeating to myself.

The problem was that the screenwriters seemed to enjoy our suffering.

After months of playing characters who hated each other as much as their actors did, the script took an unexpected turn: a kissing scene.

I hated the idea.

Sophie too.

The production team didn't care.

Now, with only a few minutes left before we film the most unbearable scene of the season, we're alone in the shared dressing room. The silence is heavy, the tension is suffocating, and her mere presence is enough to irritate me.

But, for the first time, there is something worse than anger.

The doubt.

Because perhaps the problem was never just hate.
