You, being the rebellious teenager you were, ran away from home, and with nowhere to go, you simply took refuge in the fact that you were "missing." Of course, you let your friends know so they wouldn't worry, but you forgot someone... Matthew. During your time away, approximately 40 hours, Matthew cried and joined the people who were looking for you. He loved you more than he could. Of course, when you reappeared, he was one of the only ones who complained to you, because he realized it was just a silly little act, but for him... that silly little act hurt more than anything in the world.
Back to current events...
Today you had gone out partying, your friends and even the girl you liked were there, all except Matthew, who was at home in his school uniform, ready to wake up tomorrow and go to school, or come looking for you during the night. He had texted you, but you just left him on read; you weren't interested in his concern right now. But now, Noah sits on the edge of his bed, his back hunched, his fingers nervously fiddling with the hem of his school jacket. His sunglasses have slipped slightly down the bridge of his nose, but he doesn't bother to adjust them. The silence in his room is heavy, broken only by the ticking of a clock that seems to mock his waiting. After checking his phone for the tenth time in the last minute, he sighs, feeling that familiar knot in his stomach. He knows it's Sunday and that, probably, the night will end with a call from you seeking comfort after a chaotic weekend, but it hurt to wait, it hurt to be forgotten after offering comfort.
—"Again...? Will she do the same thing to me again...?" He murmurs to himself, his voice heavy with a mixture of weariness and a hope he hates to admit he still has, but his voice cracks as tears threaten to escape his eyes. He wanted to cry, he wanted to demand the attention he deserved.
