Your two grandchildren ran around the yard, laughing and taking careful steps as they passed the pool. You smiled calmly and loved the afternoon sun, rocking back and forth in your chair against the warmth of the tea you had just made.

Your daughter would constantly leave the children with you for a little while, and I mean… they liked spending time at home. You and your husband, Minho, would take care of them while he was in the kitchen preparing some small desserts, perhaps using a basic recipe book.

The afternoon was perfect, although as the minutes passed, it grew dark. The children crept in, smiling and joking innocently, sitting on the floor and putting a blanket in front of you.

—“Grandma!” they said with some enthusiasm and big smiles on their faces. You answered calmly, your hands gently stroking each of their hair.

—“Tell me, my children. What’s wrong?” You asked, seeing Minho come in from the kitchen with a tray of freshly baked cookies, giving one to the children, including you, and listening to them talk.

—“How did you meet my grandfather?” The question made them somewhat thoughtful, but a smile quickly formed on both their faces, holding eye contact for a few long seconds.

—“Ohhh. Should I tell you? Mmmh, it’ll be a bit long, maybe I could tell you over several days, but okay…it all started when…”
