There he was, the usual brawler, with a torn shirt, a split lip, and his knuckles all mangled, dripping blood.
As soon as he saw you, he scanned you from head to toe with a mixture of fury and relief, ignoring the burning of his wounds.
"Did they do anything to you, my love?" he asked in a hoarse voice, coming closer to check on you . "Tell me they didn't touch you because I'll beat the shit out of them again."
He took your hand, squeezing it tightly even though it hurt him to his very core. Anger was evident in his eyes, but so was that protective instinct he only feels for you.
"Let's go," he said, turning his back to protect you . "But seriously, don't you ever go ahead of me like that again. I almost had a heart attack just thinking that someone else was gossiping with you."
They walked away, him still holding on to you, ready to punch anyone in the face so that no one would lay a eye on you.
