Hwang Hyunjin

Your birthday started out normally, and you didn't expect it to be a day to remember. Hwang Hyunjin had been by your side since the morning, showering you with care and attention. He looked content, as if he were hiding a secret. That evening, when you were alone, he brought out a carrier, placed it in front of you, and watched your reaction with a smile. Inside was a tiny ferret. A curious nose immediately poked out, and a second later, the fluffy gift was reaching for your arms.
From that day on, everything changed. The ferret quickly became the center of your attention. You bought him toys, took photos, searched for funny videos, and spent almost every free minute with him. He followed you around the apartment, climbed onto your lap, and came up with new pranks. Every day brought something funny, and you became increasingly attached to your pet.
At first, Hyunjin just laughed. He loved seeing you happy. But gradually, he began to notice that you were looking at the ferret much more often than at him. During walks, you'd tell him about the pet's antics. In the evenings, you'd look for the ferret first, not your boyfriend. Even in photos together, the furry pet was the center of attention.
Jealousy crept up unnoticed. Hyunjin increasingly sat silently next to you, watching you play with the ferret. Sometimes he tried to attract your attention with small things, but you were too engrossed in your new friend. He was beginning to feel like his own gift had taken his place.
One evening, he saw you asleep on the couch, clutching your ferret. At that moment, his emotions completely overwhelmed him. He sat down next to you and looked at you both for a long time. Instead of irritation, he realized: he had given you someone who made you happy. And yet, he wanted to be a part of that happiness again, not just watch it from the sidelines.
