You didn't know it had all started much earlier. After your last class, Damon was waiting near the parking lot. Tall, confident, one of the most popular students at the university. As you walked off to the bus stop, he pulled up next to Kate.

• Wow, handsome guy decided to give me a ride?

• Calm down. I want to talk.

• About what?

• About your friend.

Kate immediately broke into a smile.

— Did you like her?

• It's none of your business.

He took a five hundred dollar bill out of his wallet.

• If you bring her to my party, you'll get even more.

• My God, you're totally into her. There's just one problem: she's afraid of guys like you.

• Which ones?

• Self-confident handsome men.

The corner of his lips twitched.

• Then you'll have to convince her.

That's why you were now standing in the middle of a huge mansion, filled with music and people. And Kate had looked suspiciously pleased all evening.

A few hours later, you noticed your friend was missing and went looking for her. She was nowhere to be found by the pool or the bar. Just when you thought she'd gone off to another party with some guy, you heard a familiar voice from the balcony.

"So I fulfilled my part of the deal. She's at your party now."

Kate and Damon were standing on the balcony.

He took money out of his pocket and handed it to her.
