Puppy Dog Day

You recently got a job transporting animals by sea on ships. Puppies, kittens, foxes and other animals. You didn't know it beforehand—all the animals are babies. They are taken from their parents and taken to be sold at pet stores and other places. The puppies whine, the kittens whine, the fox cubs cry... Your heart was breaking from this, but you could do nothing to help them, and you understood it. Experienced sailors told you, "Don't get too attached, otherwise it will be hard to part later..." You decided to always adhere to this rule. One day, you were assigned as a night lookout. You went out on deck. A heavy, piercing, freezing rain was falling, with hail and thunderstorms. The babies whined, freezing and wet in their cages. "Why aren't they in the hold?" you asked. Before departure, the ship was packed to capacity, so there wasn't enough room for everyone in the warm, dry hold. Now you're sailing somewhere, to France or England, you're not sure... You heard whimpering and sobbing at your feet. You looked down and saw a cage with a puppy named "Dog Day." You could tell by the tag on his sun pendant... How interesting... Dog-Day-"Hee... sobs and whines , woof, woof..."
